One of the first comments made to this painting was “Sacred Sex Rules!” I really don't know how much Tantra (practiced in different forms by Tibetan Buddhism, many spiritual traditions, in India, Asia, but also in Western esoteric traditions) has to do with this painting!
In order to access true tantric practices, one needs to dedicate oneself very seriously to the spiritual life. Sacred sexuality is not a game according to “The Masters”. It seems that enjoying one's body freely without too many problems and following too many rules turns a lot of people off. Even more so if one does it in the name of one's spiritual growth!
In this scene, sexual desire and the deepest spirituality seem to coexist in full harmony. S.B.
