Paraphrasing Zucchero (Sugar) Fornaciari and in tune with the theses of the French neo-Epicurean and neo-hedonist philosopher Michael Onfray, I think that there will never be enough denunciations and positions taken against the repression of a “healthy and conscious libido”.
In our society formed and culturally permeated by the two-thousand-year-old Christian-Judaic morality, women are still considered impure and sinful, like the desires they arouse. Even if veiled and unconscious, the attitude towards the feminine, towards women and the fear of men of not being able to control their sexuality, is ultimately always the same; despite “68”, the sexual revolution and feminism.
This is therefore the representation of the 'wounded desire', a suffering female figure, the angel of desire fallen to the ground, maimed, demonized and repressed.
